Death Doula & End-of-Life Guide

What prepares me for becoming a death doula is my extensive background in communication (BA & MA degrees in Speech Communication) and 25 plus years of dedicated personal and spiritual growth and development. Navigating tender and difficult conversations is core to doula work requiring strong communication skills, emotional and spiritual maturity and access to intuitive guidance.

My doula work is grounded in shamanic practices using ritual, ceremony, drumming and direct connection to spirit to serve my clients in whatever phase of living and/or dying they are experiencing. As I guide people in their journey, I, too, am being guided.

I received doula training from the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) in December of 2021. I also volunteered for a local hospice organization and learned how to companion people at end of life and sit vigil and support the actual dying experience. I continuously educate myself and am deeply steeped in the death and dying space. The primary learning comes from the direct experience of supporting individuals and families.
